Espresso Martini Challenge UK 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern participation in the Espresso Martini Challenge UK 2026. By submitting an entry, each participant confirms that they have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
1. Organiser
The organiser and promoter of the competition is Mangrove Global Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 8674207.

2. Competition Name
The competition is called the Espresso Martini Challenge UK 2026.
3. Eligibility
- The competition is open only to bartenders and hospitality staff aged 18 or over.
- Entrants must be based in the United Kingdom.
- The competition is open to individual entrants only. Team entries, shared entries and entries submitted on behalf of another person are not permitted.
- The Organiser reserves the right to request proof of identity, proof of age, proof of UK base and/or proof of relevant professional status.
4. Entry Period
Entries must be submitted by 16 August 2026. Entries submitted after that date, or incomplete entries, may not be accepted.
5. Entry Rules
- Only one entry per person is permitted.
- Once an entry has been submitted, it cannot be edited, amended or replaced unless the Organiser expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
- Each entry must be submitted through the official competition entry form and include all required information requested by the Organiser.
- Each entry must include an original Espresso Martini recipe using Caffe Borghetti as a mandatory ingredient, together with the full ingredients list, method and a photo of the finished drink.
6. Originality and Submission Standards
- Each entrant confirms that their submission is their own original work.
- Entries must not infringe the rights of any third party, including copyright, confidential information or other intellectual property rights.
- The Organiser reserves the right to reject or disqualify any entry it considers incomplete, misleading, fraudulent, offensive, unlawful, inappropriate or otherwise contrary to the spirit of the competition.
7. Shortlisting
Up to 10 finalists may be shortlisted from eligible submissions and invited to take part in the UK live final in London. The Organiser is not obliged to shortlist a fixed number of finalists if, in its opinion, entries do not meet the required standard.
8. UK Live Final
- The UK live final is expected to take place in London in early to mid September 2026. The final date, venue and schedule will be confirmed by the Organiser.
- Finalists must be available to attend in person.
- Travel to and from the London final is not covered by the Organiser.
- Accommodation in connection with the London final is not covered by the Organiser.
- Finalists are responsible for any personal costs associated with attending the London final unless the Organiser confirms otherwise in writing.
- During the UK live final, competitors must prepare and present their drink within the live format specified by the Organiser.
- A visible pour of Borghetti is required during the UK live final.
9. Judging
Entries and live performances may be judged on criteria including, but not limited to:
- speed of execution,
- technique and cleanliness,
- taste and balance,
- presentation and serving concept,
- originality and overall personality of the serve.
The judges' decisions are final.
10. Winner Prize
The UK winner will receive a trip to the international final at BCB Berlin 2026, where they will compete against 14 other market winners.
The Berlin prize is intended to include:
- travel arranged or approved by the Organiser,
- accommodation arranged or approved by the Organiser, and
- competition-related event participation as determined by the Organiser.
The Berlin prize does not include:
- personal expenses,
- personal meals,
- spending money,
- optional personal activities, or
- any personal costs outside the competition arrangements made by the Organiser.
11. Travel and International Final Conditions
- The winner must be available to travel on the dates specified by the Organiser.
- The winner is responsible for ensuring they hold valid travel documents, including a valid passport, and are legally able to travel.
- Any visa, insurance, tax, declaration or other personal travel requirement remains the responsibility of the winner unless expressly stated otherwise by the Organiser.
- A visible pour of Borghetti is required during the international final.
12. If the Winner Cannot Travel or Participate
If the winner is unable, unwilling or unavailable to travel, attend, compete or otherwise participate in the international final, the Organiser may, at its sole discretion:
- withdraw the prize,
- award the opportunity to another eligible finalist, or
- otherwise deal with the prize as it considers appropriate.
13. Publicity, Content and Usage Rights
By entering, participants agree that the Organiser and its partners may use competition-related content, including entrant names, venue names, recipe names, recipe details, photographs, videos and social content, for promotional, editorial, event and marketing purposes connected with the competition, Caffe Borghetti and related brand activity.
No further compensation will be due for such use unless required by law.
14. Intellectual Property
Entrants retain ownership of their original recipe concepts, but grant the Organiser a non-exclusive right to reference, publish, adapt and promote submitted materials in connection with the competition and related communications.
15. Disqualification
The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any entrant or finalist who:
- fails to meet eligibility requirements,
- submits false, incomplete or misleading information,
- plagiarises or misrepresents their submission,
- fails to attend a required competition event,
- acts in an unsafe, abusive, offensive, unlawful or disruptive manner, or
- acts in a way that may damage the reputation of the competition, brand or Organiser.
16. Responsible Drinking
Participants must act responsibly at all times and comply with all applicable laws, venue rules and any health and safety instructions issued by the Organiser.
17. Data Protection
Personal information submitted in connection with the competition will be used for the purpose of administering the competition, contacting entrants, managing shortlisting and finalist participation, arranging the prize, and supporting related competition communications. Further details are set out in the accompanying Privacy Policy.
18. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Organiser shall not be liable for lost, late, incomplete or corrupted entries, technical failures, travel disruption, cancellations, delays, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from participation in the competition, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
19. Changes, Suspension or Cancellation
The Organiser reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions or to suspend, postpone, vary or cancel the competition or any stage of it if necessary due to operational, legal, safety or other circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
20. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with the competition shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
